From the Chairman
When the State of Jharkhand was formed and I was given the honour of
serving as its first Health Minister, I saw two things clearly: how
much our region needed good healthcare, and how few trained hands
there were to deliver it. Sorojini Sarangi Nursing College is my
answer to that need.
For too long, the young people of Baharagora and the districts
around us have travelled far from home to train as nurses — to
Jamshedpur, to Kolkata, and further still. Many never came back. I
wanted to build something here, on the banks of the Subarnarekha,
that would let our daughters and sons become skilled, respected
nurses without leaving the region that raised them.
This college is named for family and built for community. We have
put in place proper approvals, real hospital training, and teachers
who care. What we ask of you in return is simple: come ready to work
hard, to be kind, and to serve.
If you join our founding batch, you will not just be a student here.
You will help shape what this institution becomes. I invite you,
warmly, to be part of it.
